Celebrities and Stage Fright

michael jackson

Michael Jackson
Who would've thought that the King of Pop himself would be suffering from stage fright?
It was during the World Music Awards that Michael Jackson performed on stage after 9 years.

If it wasn't for Beyonce, who went backstage & tried her best to comfort Jackson, he might have never set his foot on that stage! It was after 30 minutes of waiting that Jackson appeared & sang to a backing tape playing We Are the World.

Jackson was supposed to sing a remake of Thriller after receiving a Diamond Award for selling more than 100 million albums, but he didn't!

Donny Osmond
American singer, Donny Osmond, had stage fright and experienced a panic attack during a performance in 1994.
The panic attacks prevented him from singing and made him believe he was going to black out. Donny was scared of shopping centers as he thought people might gather around to ridicule him. Donny sought assistance from a psychologist and engaged in cognitive behavioural therapy.

laurence olivier

Laurence Olivier
The man often considered the greatest actor of the 20th century didn't face the dreaded affliction until late middle age, but then it hit him hard. In one run at London's National Theatre, Olivier had to have the stage manager push him onstage every night.
